Fireside Fire Drill with Jane Fonda and Saket Soni

Immigrants are essential to our survival in the climate crisis. Climate change is making disasters more furious. After raging wildfires, floods, and hurricanes, immigrants are rebuilding. Across America, they’re the resilience workforce repairing homes, hospitals, and cities. As they do it, they’re being hunted down by Donald Trump’s immigration agents. Saket Soni, founder and director of Resilience Force, joins Jane and Fire Drill Fridays to talk about this resilience workforce, new disasters, and how protecting these workers helps us build our way out of the climate crisis. We’ll show clips of a Netflix documentary, Immigration Nation, featuring Saket and these workers, and talk about how the people benefiting from our immigration and climate crises are the same.

Recordings reveal President Trump downplayed COVID-19, Desi Lydic talks to the founder of gender reveal parties, and “What Can I Do?” author Jane Fonda discusses climate change activism.
